  Please read these Terms of Service carefully before interacting with or placing an order on houseofkindred.co. By completing a purchase or utilizing our digital portal, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. LEGAL ENTITY & CONTRACTUAL PARTNER

  When you place an order on houseofkindred.co, your sales contract is concluded with House of Kindred ApS. Fulfillment, packaging, and dispatch are executed directly by the independent artisan or maker (the house) responsible for the specific creation.

2. PRIVATE CLIENT USE

  This website and its offerings are intended exclusively for private individuals at age 18+ acquiring goods for personal use. We reserve the right to decline or limit orders that appear to be intended for unauthorized commercial resale, distribution, or bulk commercial exploitation.

3. ORDERS & CONTRACT FORMATION

  • Order Submission: An order is submitted when you complete the checkout process on our website.
  • Order Acknowledgement: Upon completing your transaction, you will receive an automated order receipt via email. This email serves as confirmation that we have received your order request, but does not constitute binding acceptance.
  • Binding Agreement: A binding agreement is formed once the respective artisan atelier confirms the order and the piece enters processing or dispatch.
  • Order Refusal & Cancellation: House of Kindred ApS reserves the right to decline, adjust, or cancel any order at our discretion prior to dispatch. Reasons may include, but are not limited to: severe pricing errors, suspected fraud, failure to pass security checks, carrier restrictions, or inventory unavailability. In such cases, you will be notified promptly and issued a full reimbursement.

4. PRICING, VAT & PAYMENT

  • Currency & Pricing: Prices are displayed in the currency selected during navigation or checkout. All prices are subject to change without prior notice.
  • European Union (EU) VAT: For deliveries within Denmark and the EU, prices include applicable regional Value Added Tax (VAT) in compliance with EU regulations.
  • Non-EU Export (Danish VAT Exemption): Orders shipped to destinations outside the EU are exempt from Danish VAT. Checkout totals will automatically adjust to exclude Danish VAT once a non-EU shipping address is selected.
  • DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) Terms: For orders delivered outside the EU (including UK, Switzerland, Norway, USA, Canada, etc.), local import duties, customs taxes, and handling fees may be levied by local authorities upon arrival. These charges are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
  • Payment Processing: For in-stock items, payment is authorized at checkout and charged upon order dispatch. For bespoke commissions, made-to-order creations, and pre-orders, full payment is processed upon order confirmation to initiate production. We accept major payment methods displayed at checkout, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro, UnionPay, Klarna, MobilePay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.

5. MADE-TO-ORDER & BESPOKE COMMISSIONS

  Certain creations presented across our houses are crafted upon request or tailored specifically for you.

  • Production Timelines: Production windows and lead times are indicated on individual product pages (typically 2 to 8 weeks).
  • Final Sale: By ordering a made-to-order or bespoke piece, you acknowledge that production begins upon order confirmation, and that these custom creations are exempt from standard statutory return windows and are non-refundable (see Return Policy).

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

  All content presented on houseofkindred.co — including but not limited to brand names, curated photography, editorial prose, logos, graphic design, visual layouts, and trademarked names — is the exclusive intellectual property of House of Kindred ApS or the respective independent houses and artisans hosted on the portal. 

  Nothing on this platform grants permission or license to copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any material without prior explicit written consent from House of Kindred ApS.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & ARTISANAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Artisanal Nuances: Many creations featured on our portal are crafted by hand using natural materials (precious metals, raw gemstones, natural botanicals, textiles, wood, etc.). Subtle variations in texture, finish, color, and grain are inherent signatures of craftsmanship and natural origin, rather than defects.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, House of Kindred ApS shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website, service delays, or delivered products. Our total monetary liability in connection with any order is strictly limited to the total purchase price paid for that specific order.
  • Statutory Rights: Nothing in these terms excludes or limits statutory consumer rights available under Danish and European Union consumer legislation.

8. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

  These Terms of Service, along with any transactions, disputes, or claims arising from your use of houseofkindred.co, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

  Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Denmark.

10. AMENDMENTS TO TERMS

  House of Kindred ApS reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service at any time. The version published on our website at the moment an order is finalized governs that specific purchase.
